Do You Believe in God?

Posted by radioactivestuff.blogspot.com

About a month ago I posted a poll on the blog that asked readers to submit their feelings about God. Although I thought that the majority of our fan base would be adamant atheists, mostly because I cater to an atheist audience, I realized that a number of theists and agnostics are active users on the blog. This was a pleasant surprise for me because it shows that we at RadioactiveStuff are reaching out to an audience with a diverse range of cultural, scientific and religious views. Here are the results from the last poll:

Another Twilight Review by Peaches

Dear Reader,

After enthusiastically following the Twilight craze and reading all four books in the series, my interest suffered a violent death upon the release of the first movie.

What stumps me is who cast Robert Pattinson? I found him, his overacting, and his interpretation of Edward's character repelling. For example, in the biology lab scene, Edward is supposed to exhibit more subtle anxiety. In the movie, however, he instead suffocates himself by covering his mouth with his hand, as if Bella has an extreme case of B.O... or maybe he's just catching a whiff of his own hair, which he himself states he never washes!

And not that I dislike British accents, but I think that he should at least try to keep it from slipping into his voice, when he's playing a character with an American accent.

To add to that, I think the makeup artist took the pale, pale skin thing way too far, considering Edward has ten times the makeup as Bella, and Carlisle looks like a Barbie doll with his hair slicked back.

And what gives me the most pain out of all is Allison. She looked wonderful on the poster and was an important character in the book, but when you hear her say the only lines she has in the entire movie, it's agony! Perhaps they meant to have her oversized nostrils take your attention away from her bad acting. Also, Emmet is just strange looking, and Rosalie could stand to lose a couple pounds, both far from the images of perfection they were in the book.

The overacted awkwardness between Pattinson and Stewart, rather than being sexy, was downright painful. Bella could have been a little more animated, and considering she did read the books (unlike Robert Pattinson, who said he has never read them), there's no excuse. I have nothing bad to say about Esmie, other than that she looks like she's in her mid-fifties. My mom even looks younger than she does... *sigh.*

The music was extremely cheesy... I could've heard it in an elevator. The only thing about the movie that sparkled besides Edward's skin were the over-whitened teeth of all the actors, since everything else was blue.

No offense to the screenwriter, but... I could have written a better screenplay. The only bright spot is the resulting YouTube spoofs, which are extremely entertaining.

GOP Survivor

Posted by radioactivestuff.blogspot.com

Hello,

Have you seen this? It's a new web ad by the DNC called "Survivor: GOP Edition." Morning Joe hosts responded by saying it was "silly" and that the DNC was "gloating," which would give them "bad karma." Personally, I think it's brilliant. Ad hominem, my ass. It wonderfully sums up the battle to be "the face of the Republican Party." And Rush Limbaugh looks as if frogs are going to come spewing out of his mouth.

Check it out. The video is below...

Thanks for reading,

Twilight: Review

Posted by Atheist God

Hey, what's up, everyone? Atheist God here. Christopher Stuffington is too much of an *cough*ass*cough* to write this himself, so here goes.

INTRODUCTION

The Twilight series have had a big shebang, a warm welcoming by the Twilighters. But as any fad, it has now slowly come down to a crash landing, *ssssshhhhhhhhhhh BOOOOOOOOOM*!!!!
But it's had a good run while it's lasted. Let's take a closer look, shall we?...

THE BOOKS

...they're everywhere! Or, at least, they were... Have you noticed that there is definetely less hype about the books? Me too.

They're also overrated. I mean, a human girl gets with a vampire boy, they're awkward, they get sexy time, and they have a sexy and deadly baby. What else is there?

Oh, did I forget Edward's sparkly glittery skin and his gorgeous amber eyes? Remember, he's a vampire. And vampires don't exist.

THE MOVIE(S)

So there's only one movie out right now, and it's based on the first book: "Twilight". And soon, "New Moon" will be out later this year.

For one thing, I haven't read the books, and don't plan to. But my friends are avid Twilighters, and from their POV, the movie has many holes. Apparently there are crucial scenes in the book that the movie completely ignored? But hey, it's a movie. People don't come to it thinking that it's going to resemble the book at all... right?

And now... motivational posters to give you that warm and fuzzy feeling...

Hmmm... warm and fuzzy, right?! :)

Atheist God out.

The Divine Creator

Posted by radioactivestuff.blogspot.com

Hello Reader!

Today we are going to discuss creationism vs. evolution.

According to the Bible, God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the seventh, breathing life into every creature in its original form. If you agree with the concept of creationism, we are going to give you a little information about evolutionism, so you can see a different pointofview.

In the theory of evolutionism, a species of organisms develops traits over time that help it survive in an environment. Usually, evolution is sparked by heredity changes in an organism that allow it to better avoid predation. When the organism reproduces, it passes down the advantageous traits to its offspring. As organisms with the desirable traits reproduce and become more prominent in the species, the organisms with the less desirable traits die off. The species evolves as a whole when the organisms with the best characteristics supersede the organisms that aren't as well-adapted.

In our lifetime, we hardly see the full effects of evolution, observing only very subtle differences within species. It may be hard for some of us to grasp this counterintuitive concept, but we must only consider all of the tiny changes that can take place over billions of years to understand the bigger transitions that species have made. For example, because of air pollution and other industrial byproducts during the industrial revolution in Britain, in the course of 67 years the darker colored moths became more abundant than the lighter colored ones in the species because the darker moths could camouflage better in the new environment. If a moth species can evolve in such a short period, imagine how much it will change in the course of a billion years. In a world that is constantly changing naturally and because of man, species will change drastically over long periods of time.

What do you believe? Post your opinion in the comment section!
